A while ago i got another intake box and cut the bottom part of it. I just wanted to see how it performs, if it would 1) suck all hot air out of engine bay 2) have better flow. I really need at least some iphone with power diagnostic to get some proof :/ I can feel that I have a lot less power on the car than a year ago or so. Fuel consumption has increased. Idle has increased to ~1000rpm, sometimes even 1200. For now I put back original air intake box and cold air intake. I left the hole to resonator open (resonator is removed), will cut some hole in front of the fender well plastic, so that there is more air to the cold air intake.. I will probably try the cut version again when I fit the huge HKS intercooler in front, as then it would cool down the hot air pretty much. just in case i dont go cone filter..
OEM celica intake box. another intake bottom part with part of it cut out. cold air intake pipe as well
took another pic of HKS EVC as well
EVC VI boost control solenoid inside engine bay. attached to battery.
seems like i need to clean up the engine bay :D
Oh, and I am checking the oil level regularly, haven`t lost anything so far! Still i think the car is too loud. It makes a bit more of vibration right at 2000rpms and 3000rpms, neutral or any gear. weird. Brake oil still leaking and destroying the rims.
I also cleaned the nozzles of my DIY intercooler sprayer. Again no chance to test how it performs, maybe will do a run on drag strip, since I had no chance to cool down the intercooler..
Will need to go through state technical inspection in next 2 weeks. Need to reattach exhaust, get new set of summer tires (wet tarmac is addictive at nights) and swap out the LED lights and see what other problems the inspecion will reveal..
